Here comes the first M&A update of Jens Bender from WorkTech Advisory of 2026. The first update of 2026 confirms what many expected: consolidation across #HRTech and #WorkTech continues at pace. After an exceptionally active 2025, the structural drivers remain intact: suite expansion for stronger up- & cross-selling, AI capability build-up (often via tuck-ins), and strategic market access in regulated geographies. In January, we saw notable activity in Skills Intelligence, AI training, EOR and workforce infrastructure.

Here’s a look at the standout January deals:

Docebo (CA) acquired 365Talents (FR), embedding AI-powered skills intelligence deeper into learning workflows

The Holding Club (DE) acquired HRlab GmbH (DE), become a partner for the continued growth for the cloud-based HR suite for the SMB segment

Multiverse (UK) acquired StackFuel (DE), accelerating AI upskilling with the ambition to train 100,000 workers in Germany

Payoneer (US) acquired Boundless (IE), expanding its global workforce management stack in the EOR space

Envoice (UK) acquired Scoro (EE), connecting AI-powered expense management with project and margin visibility

Also notable in HR services & #staffing (closely tied to HR Tech):

Synergie France (FR) acquired Agilus Work Solutions (CA), marking its largest international acquisition to date

Zen Educate (UK) acquired AK Teaching Limited (UK), strengthening its regional education staffing footprint

Start People (UK) acquired SG Personnel Ltd (UK), expanding in manufacturing and technical staffing

 Global highlights:

Phenom (US) announced acquisition of Included.AI (US), adding agentic AI-powered people analytics – more to come in February…

Resurgens Technology Partners (US) acquired OrgChart (US), backing org design and workforce visibility software

Remote (US) acquired Atlas (US), further consolidating global employment infrastructure
