Strawberry in the HR Start-up Series

Strawberry Agentic AI Start-up

As part of the SAATKORN HR Start-up Series, I’d like to introduce you to Strawberry today. This Stockholm-based start-up is building an AI agent platform for non-techies – it’s incredibly exciting! I had the opportunity to speak to the 19-year-old co-founder, Laurits Wehding. Let’s get started:

SAATKORN: Laurits, please introduce yourself to the SAATKORN readers!

I’m Laurits Wehding, 19, founder and operator of Strawberry in Stockholm. I’ve never been to university and I can’t code. Strawberry is an AI agent platform for non-techies: powerful agents that run on your computer and work in your browser – using the tools and context you already have.

SAATKORN: What’s the story behind the founding of Strawberry?

Strawberry was founded in Stockholm by Charles Maddock (CEO), Sebastian Thunman and Arian Hanifi. The idea was simple: the most powerful AI agents were developed by engineers for engineers, whilst almost everyone else was left with nothing more than a chatbox. They wanted agents that ordinary knowledge workers could actually use in their work – and within the interface everyone is already familiar with: the browser. I joined as a founding member and am responsible for the market launch and day-to-day operations.

SAATKORN: What is your mission, and what specific problem are you solving?

Our mission is to make AI agents accessible to people who aren’t engineers, and to become Europe’s leading AI agent platform. The problem is that most agents run in a separate app, so you have to copy information and explain your task all over again every time. Strawberry’s agents work right where you’re already working – just a click away and with your full context. A typical use case: a recruitment or HR team asks an agent to research candidates across the tabs and tools that are already open, summarise them and draft a contact message. The person sees every step and gives their approval before anything is sent. The benefit: less copying and pasting, less administrative effort – and more time for people.

SAATKORN: How does your business model work, and what do your customers pay for?

It’s a SaaS subscription. There is a free plan with 500 credits per month, as well as paid plans for individuals starting at $20 per month and team plans billed per user. Customers pay for credits, which are only used when the agent is working on their behalf. Browsing the internet is free.

SAATKORN: What is your ideal customer profile, and in which countries are you active?

Non-technical knowledge workers and teams in the fields of recruitment, HR, sales, marketing, operations and support, mainly at start-ups and small and medium-sized enterprises. We’re based in Stockholm and are initially rolling out our solution across Europe. Anyone can download Strawberry at strawberrybrowser.com.

SAATKORN: What sets your solution apart from other offerings, and what role does AI play in this?

Most AI agents run in a separate chat window. Strawberry runs right where you’re already working – so there’s no need to open a new tab where you have to explain everything all over again, and the agent can use the same websites and tools you’re already logged into. It’s more like a colleague who learns from you than a chat bot. For example: instead of copying an applicant’s details back and forth between a job board, your applicant tracking system and your email, the assistant works across these tabs whilst you follow every step.

SAATKORN: How quickly can customers get started, and how do they recognise the initial benefits?

You download the app, log in and get started – with no setup required and no prior technical knowledge needed. You’ll see the first benefits the very first time you hand over a repetitive browser task. We don’t publish measured benchmark figures, so I’d rather not quote any.

SAATKORN: What is your vision, and where do you want to be in three years’ time?

In three years’ time, we want to be the standard way for knowledge workers across Europe to work with AI agents, so that every company in Europe can become AI-capable – not just those with engineers.

SAATKORN: If you had three wishes, what would they be?

1. That everyone, not just engineers, gets an AI colleague.

2. That Europe develops the AI agent platforms its companies rely on itself, rather than simply buying them.

3. That AI takes over the work that makes us feel like robots, rather than replacing people.

SAATKORN: How and where can potential customers contact you?

Laurits Wehding, laurits@strawberrybrowser.com or via our website

. Enquiries from the press and regarding partnerships are welcome.

SAATKORN: Laurits, thank you very much for these insights! And we wish you continued enjoyment and success with Strawberry!
