If you click the Facebook “Like” button whilst logged into your Facebook account, you can link the content of our pages to your Facebook profile. This enables Facebook to associate your visit to our pages with your user account. 5. Analytics tools and advertising
Google Analytics
This website uses features of the web analytics service Google Analytics. The provider is Google Ireland Limited (‘Google’), Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.
Google Analytics enables the website operator to analyse the behaviour of website visitors. In doing so, the website operator receives various usage data, such as page views, time spent on the site, operating systems used and the user’s origin. This data is associated with the user’s respective device. It is not linked to a user ID.
Furthermore, Google Analytics enables us, amongst other things, to record your mouse and scroll movements and clicks. Google Analytics also uses various modelling approaches to supplement the collected data sets and employs machine learning technologies in its data analysis.
Google Analytics uses technologies that enable the user to be recognised for the purpose of analysing user behaviour (e.g. cookies or device fingerprinting). The information collected by Google regarding the use of this website is generally transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there.
Use of this service is based on your consent in accordance with Article 6(1)(a) of the GDPR and Section 25(1) of the TTDSG. You may withdraw your consent at any time.
Data transfer to the USA is based on the EU Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses. Further details can be found here: https://privacy.google.com/businesses/controllerterms/mccs/.
IP anonymisation
We have enabled the IP anonymisation feature on this website. This means that your IP address is truncated by Google within Member States of the European Union or in other signatory states to the Agreement on the European Economic Area before being transferred to the USA. Only in exceptional cases is the full IP address transmitted to a Google server in the USA and truncated there. On behalf of the operator of this website, Google will use this information to analyse your use of the website, to compile reports on website activity and to provide the website operator with other services relating to website and internet usage. The IP address transmitted by your browser as part of Google Analytics will not be merged with other data held by Google.
Browser plug-in
You can prevent the collection and processing of your data by Google by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available via the following link: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de.
Further information on how Google Analytics handles user data can be found in Google’s privacy policy: https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/6004245?hl=de.
Data processing on behalf of a client
We have entered into a data processing agreement with Google and fully comply with the strict requirements of the German data protection authorities when using Google Analytics.
Google AdWords and Google Conversion Tracking
This website uses Google AdWords. AdWords is an online advertising programme provided by Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, United States (“Google”).
As part of Google AdWords, we use what is known as conversion tracking. When you click on an advert placed by Google, a cookie is set for conversion tracking. Cookies are small text files that the web browser stores on the user’s computer. These cookies expire after 30 days and are not used to personally identify users. If the user visits certain pages on this website and the cookie has not yet expired, Google and we can recognise that the user clicked on the advert and was redirected to that page.
Each Google AdWords customer is assigned a different cookie. The cookies cannot be tracked across the websites of AdWords customers. The information collected via the conversion cookie is used to generate conversion statistics for AdWords customers who have opted in to conversion tracking. Clients are informed of the total number of users who clicked on their advert and were redirected to a page tagged with a conversion tracking tag. However, they do not receive any information that can be used to personally identify users. If you do not wish to participate in tracking, you can object to this use by easily disabling the Google conversion tracking cookie via your web browser’s user settings. You will then not be included in the conversion tracking statistics.
The storage of “conversion cookies” is based on Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in analysing user behaviour in order to optimise both its website and its advertising.
Further information on Google AdWords and Google Conversion Tracking can be found in Google’s privacy policy: https://www.google.de/policies/privacy/.
You can configure your browser so that you are notified when cookies are set and can choose to allow cookies only on a case-by-case basis, to block the acceptance of cookies in specific cases or generally, and to enable the automatic deletion of cookies when you close your browser. If you disable cookies, the functionality of this website may be restricted.
Google reCAPTCHA
We use “Google reCAPTCHA” (hereinafter “reCAPTCHA”) on our websites. The provider is Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA (“Google”).
reCAPTCHA is designed to verify whether data entry on our websites (e.g. in a contact form) is carried out by a human or by an automated programme. To this end, reCAPTCHA analyses the behaviour of the website visitor based on various characteristics. This analysis begins automatically as soon as the website visitor accesses the website. For the purposes of the analysis, reCAPTCHA evaluates various pieces of information (e.g. IP address, the length of time the website visitor spends on the website, or the mouse movements made by the user). The data collected during the analysis is forwarded to Google.
The reCAPTCHA analyses run entirely in the background. Website visitors are not notified that an analysis is taking place.
Data processing is carried out on the basis of Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in protecting its web services from malicious automated scraping and spam.
Further information on Google reCAPTCHA and Google’s privacy policy can be found via the following links: https://www.google.com/intl/de/policies/privacy/ and https://www.google.com/recaptcha/intro/android.html.
Service – Adform
Processing – Analysis of interaction behaviour and the display of relevant advertising based on this analysis
Purpose – Legal basis: To ensure that our channels are marketed in a way that is tailored to users’ needs and effective.
Consent – (Article 6(1)(a) of the GDPR)
We use the tracking tool provided by Adform A/S, Wildersgade 10B, sal. 1, DK-1408 Copenhagen, Denmark (“Adform”) on the platform to ensure that our channels are marketed in a way that is tailored to users’ needs and effective. Adform generally acts as our data processor within the meaning of Article 28 of the GDPR in relation to the processing of your data as described below; however, with regard to the processing of so-called Adform IDs, we are jointly responsible with the service provider. We use this tool to implement effective and targeted advertising campaigns based on your usage behaviour. To this end, the tool collects technical connection data as well as details of your interactions with our website (e.g. which buttons you have clicked on). This data is subsequently stored in cookies (or using similar storage technologies). In addition, the cookies are assigned a specific identification number. The same applies if you access our website via a mobile device. Adform adapts its identifiers to the website user’s respective device accordingly. Should you subsequently, whilst browsing the internet, access a page that forms part of Adform’s advertising network, your unique identifier can be used to draw conclusions about your previous interaction behaviour, and adverts can be displayed to you on this basis. Adform also attempts to link a user’s various devices and identifiers. This enables the cross-device mapping of user interests. We are jointly responsible with Adform, in accordance with Article 26 of the GDPR, for the collection and transmission of so-called Adform IDs required in this context; these are subsequently processed by Adform on its own responsibility. Furthermore, Adform enables us to generate a statistical analysis of the reception of our advertising campaigns. In this process, your interaction behaviour is linked to specific advertising campaigns, which enables us to measure the success of our advertising measures. Within the framework of Adform’s advertising network, your Adform ID may be shared with certain advertising partners. This may also result in the transfer of this data to companies based outside the EU/EEA. Further information and a detailed list of Adform’s advertising partners can be found at: https://site.adform.com/privacy-center/adform-cookies/. We use Adform’s service to market our range of services effectively, which is a key pillar of our business activities. We base the processing of data in this regard on your consent, which we obtain via the relevant consent form when you visit our website. Further information on Adform’s data processing activities can be found in the Adform Privacy Policy at: https://site.adform.com/de/privacy-center/platform/datenschutzrichtlinie-fuerprodukte-und-services/.

The processing of the data entered in the newsletter subscription form takes place solely on the basis of your consent (Article 6(1)(a) of the GDPR). You may withdraw your consent to the storage of your data and email address, and to their use for sending the newsletter, at any time, for example via the ‘Unsubscribe’ link in the newsletter. This website uses SendGrid to send newsletters. The provider is SendGrid, Inc., Denver, CO, USA.
SendGrid is a service that can be used, amongst other things, to organise and analyse the sending of newsletters. The data you provide for the purpose of subscribing to the newsletter is stored on SendGrid’s servers in the USA. SendGrid is certified under the Privacy Shield.
If you do not wish your data to be analysed by SendGrid, you must unsubscribe from the newsletter. We provide a link for this purpose in every newsletter message. You can also unsubscribe from the newsletter directly on the website.
Data analysis by SendGrid
SendGrid enables us to analyse our newsletter campaigns. This allows us, for example, to see whether a newsletter has been opened and which links, if any, have been clicked. In this way, we can determine, amongst other things, which links were clicked on particularly frequently.
We can also identify whether certain pre-defined actions were carried out after the newsletter was opened or a link was clicked (conversion rate). For example, we can see whether you made a purchase after clicking a link in the newsletter.
SendGrid also enables us to categorise (“cluster”) newsletter recipients according to various criteria. Newsletter recipients can be categorised, for example, by age, gender or place of residence. This allows us to tailor the newsletters more effectively to the respective target groups.
For detailed information on SendGrid’s features, please refer to the following link: https://sendgrid.com/
