As part of the SAATKORN HR Start-up Series, I’d like to introduce you to wondder today. The company focuses on immersive VR learning experiences – how exciting! I had the opportunity to speak to the founder and CEO, Mihai Streza. Let’s get started: SAATKORN: Mihai, please introduce yourself to SAATKORN readers!
My name is Mihai Streza, and I’m the founder and CEO of wondder. Born in Romania in 1981, I moved to Karlsruhe at the age of 19 and studied computer science there (bachelor’s and master’s degrees), specialising in robotics and human-computer interaction, with a minor in entrepreneurship. I gained my professional experience in strategy consulting at Roland Berger and Accenture Strategy. At the same time, the world of personal development has been a constant presence in my life for over 20 years – thanks, amongst other things, to my mentor Dr Mariana Bozesan and my work with Tony Robbins. Driven by the belief that technology can help people surpass their own limits, I founded wondder in 2019. In my private life, I am married and the father of two children.
SAATKORN: What’s the story behind the founding of your HR start-up?
In 2018, I took a whole year out to explore one question: ‘What does the world want from me?’ This reflection led to the creation of wondder in 2019. The basic idea: to use technology to help people work on themselves and reach their full potential. Drawing on my own experience with personal development and my technical background in robotics and human-computer interaction, I became convinced that immersive technologies such as virtual reality take learning and genuine behavioural change to a whole new level. We started out in the B2B sector – offering immersive leadership and skills development for businesses.
SAATKORN: What is your mission – what problem are you aiming to solve?
Our mission is to empower a billion people to work on themselves and further develop their self-awareness. Traditional training programmes generate knowledge but rarely bring about genuine behavioural change – they are hardly experience-oriented and difficult to scale. wondder solves this problem with immersive VR learning experiences that are AI-supported and scientifically grounded. In this way, we strengthen professional skills, reduce unconscious bias and promote mental health – effectively, measurably and scalably.
SAATKORN: What is wondder’s business model?
wondder operates on a B2B basis. Companies purchase access to our immersive VR platform and our modules for leadership development, diversity & inclusion and mental health via a licence or subscription model – supplemented by bespoke content and support. We combine scalable technology with expert content support.
SAATKORN: What is your ideal customer profile?
Our ideal customers are innovative, forward-looking organisations that are genuinely committed to developing their leaders and teams – ranging from high-growth tech firms to established corporations with a serious interest in leadership, culture and mental health. In short: the most relevant and innovative organisations that recognise people as their most important lever.
SAATKORN: In which countries do you offer your products and services?
Our main market is the German-speaking region (DACH) and the rest of Europe. As our immersive learning experiences can be delivered remotely, regardless of location, we essentially operate globally.
SAATKORN: If you had three wishes, what would they be?
Firstly: that wondder fulfils its mission and truly reaches millions of people. Secondly: to work with high energy, good health and a zest for life – and to strike a genuine balance between entrepreneurial success and a fulfilling family life. Thirdly: that more and more people and organisations recognise that developing one’s own consciousness is the most effective lever for a better world.
SAATKORN: How and where can potential clients contact you?
