Employer Branding
Here you’ll find all SAATKORN articles on employer branding, HR marketing and recruitment.
Yeah, the distinction isn’t entirely clear-cut, and yet they’re not quite the same thing. I know.
But as these terms are often muddled up by self-proclaimed experts, you’ll find that recruitment and HR marketing are also included under the EMPLOYER BRANDING category here.
All clear?! – Now you can have a good browse. After all, over the past 10 years, we’ve accumulated quite a few gems on employer branding, HR marketing and recruitment. And if you don’t read, you can always listen. The SAATKORN PODCAST EMPLOYER BRANDING DEEP DIVE is available on both SPOTIFY and SOUNDCLOUD… have fun!
And if you’d like to know how I distinguish between the terms, just carry on reading here:
EMPLOYER BRANDING
…is strategic branding. Essentially, it’s about developing an employer value proposition (EVP) that uses value drivers to show WHY you should work for this particular employer of all people. You can find the process for building an employer brand described here. Book recommendation: ‘A Change of Perspective in Employer Branding’.
HR MARKETING
Once you’ve done a good job with employer branding, you can set about putting the previously defined strategy into practice. The aim is then to reach the relevant target groups via the channels most relevant to them, using a creative and communication concept and plan. In theory, this could involve any channel you can imagine. The trick lies in finding the right channels – and thus the right people.
RECRUITMENT
…is ultimately the reason why we go to all the trouble described above in the EB and HR marketing (or personnel marketing) phases: it’s about finding the right people and, ideally, retaining them – which brings us to the concept of retention.
So, that was a brief overview of a few absolute basics.
I explain HERE why SAATKORN is more than just an EB blog today.
