In this episode of the ‘Amtlich voran’ podcast, I speak with Lisa Gadomski, Head of the Labour and Education Division and Head of the VDV Employers’ Initiative, and Katharina Leder, Project Manager for the initiative. The Association of German Transport Companies (VDV) represents more than 700 transport companies throughout Germany – ranging from small regional bus operators to large organisations such as Deutsche Bahn and BVG.
One quote that particularly stuck with me:
“We want to be the digital gateway to the transport sector.”
Among other things, we discussed the following topics:
🚍 More than just bus drivers and train drivers
There are over 70 different job roles in the transport sector – ranging from IT and engineering to technical apprenticeships and communications.
🌍 Meaningful work meets job security
You’ll be working on climate-friendly mobility and public services – in an industry offering high job security and genuine social relevance.
🧩 Working together to tackle the skills shortage
Through the VDV Employer Initiative and the platform in-dir-steckt-zukunft.de, transport companies are joining forces to attract talent and highlight the sector’s diversity.
