In this episode of the SAATKORN podcast, I speak with Gunter Dueck, philosopher, bestselling author, former Chief Technology Officer at IBM, and one of the most fascinating thought leaders on technology and the future of work.
In his new book Die neue Krone der Schöpfung, he explores how humanoid robots could fundamentally change our world of work, our society, and even our understanding of what it means to be human.
One quote from our conversation really stuck with me:
“The correct vision is that humanoids are, in many ways, better than humans.”
That’s a pretty bold claim, one that raises some uncomfortable questions—especially for HR leaders.
Among other things, we discussed these three topics:
🤖 Will robots become better employees?
If companies increasingly manage people through KPIs, incentive systems, and performance metrics, what actually sets us apart from perfectly programmed robots? And what happens if humanoids suddenly become better team players—completely free of egos, career ambitions, or internal power struggles?
🚀 Why is Germany missing out on the next tech revolution?
Whether it’s e-commerce, cloud computing, or AI: Germany has repeatedly underestimated technological changes. Gunter explains why Physical AI and humanoid robotics could be the next huge opportunity for our industry—and why we urgently need to wake up.
🌍 How does a society function when robots take over the work?
Imagine factories operating entirely without human workers. What does that mean for jobs, tax revenue, consumption, and our prosperity? Gunter urges us to finally talk about the societal consequences—instead of getting lost in the same old debates about whether new technologies are a curse or a blessing.
