How Sophie Genty plans to lead PERBILITY into the future

In this episode of the SAATKORN podcast, I speak to Sophie Genty, CEO of PERBILITY, the German HR tech company behind the HELIX HR suite and the recruitment solution Concludis. In March 2026, Sophie took over the CEO role from founder Andreas Meck, who has moved to the advisory board. With her strong product background, she now faces a particularly exciting challenge: how do you lead an established HR tech company into its next phase without losing the culture, customer focus and strengths that have made it successful?

One sentence sums up PERBILITY’s unique culture rather well:

“Why join the Navy if you can be a Pirate?”

Sophie isn’t set on completely reinventing PERBILITY. She wants to build on and scale up what’s already working well, tap into new customer groups and position PERBILITY as a well-known HR suite provider in Europe in the long term.

Among other things, we discussed the following topics:

🏴‍☠️ Preserving the culture – whilst still starting a new chapter

Taking over as CEO from a charismatic founder is a unique situation. Sophie explains why the strong ‘pirate crew’ identity made her transition easier – and how she intends to preserve this culture whilst continuing to develop it.

🚀 From a strong position in the regulated market to a European HR tech player

PERBILITY is particularly well-established amongst clients in regulated sectors such as banking and the public sector. Sophie aims to make this expertise in compliance, security and talent development available to more medium-sized companies in future – and, in the long term, to expand beyond Germany.

🌱 Talent development at the heart of the future

Sophie’s vision extends far beyond technology: PERBILITY aims to support companies in discovering potential and developing employees in a targeted manner. AI, secure data structures and automated workflows are key enablers in this regard – but the focus is on how HR and managers can better develop people.
