How can HR tech solve Europe’s talent problem, Anita Lettink?
In this episode of the SAATKORN podcast, I speak to Anita Lettink, keynote speaker, consultant and founder of HRtechradar. She has been working in the fields of HR technology, payroll and the future of work for over 20 years. Today, she advises HR leaders and HR tech companies around the world.
One thing Anita said really stuck with me: “Maybe AI has come at the right moment.” Europe is facing enormous demographic challenges and a growing skills gap. AI could help alleviate the pressure – but technology alone won’t solve the problem.
Among other things, we discussed the following topics:
🚀 Don’t start with AI – start with the work
Instead of asking HR, “What are you doing with AI?”, Anita suggests you should first clarify what results the work is intended to deliver, who will carry it out in future and how it will be organised – and only then consider which technology can support this.
🔎 Why you, as an HR manager, should talk to start-ups
HR tech start-ups often emerge from a very specific problem and thus bring new perspectives to the table – even if you don’t end up opting for their solution, these conversations can greatly enrich your view of HR tech.
🌍 Europe’s real challenge: demographics meet skills
As more and more people retire whilst the necessary skills are lacking, workforce strategy becomes a key business issue: after all, if your company lacks the skills required for its strategy, you simply cannot implement that strategy.
